Apple's incoming CEO, John Ternus, is quite confident that his company's upcoming slate of new products - which include a camera-equipped AirPods Pro, an AI pendant, and a bevy of smart glasses - will "change the world," quite literally.

Apple's planned slate of new products - which include a camera-equipped AirPods Pro - has received a particularly audacious endorsement from its incoming CEO, John Ternus

We reported back in February that Apple has been working on a new camera-equipped AirPods Pro. Do note that Apple received a patent back in July 2025 for leveraging cameras - akin to the Face ID's dot projector - in proximity detection and 3D depth-mapping use cases, which obviously retains tantalizing applications for the new AirPods Pro.

Now, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman is out with additional details regarding the new AirPods Pro, going on to declare that the device is currently in its design validation stage, which is the last major step before early production kicks in.

According to Gurman, Apple's camera-equipped AirPods Pro will feed a constant stream of visual information to the new Siri, allowing Apple's revamped voice assistant to understand its surroundings. Users will be able to ask Siri about the objects in their vicinity, receive better and more personalized contextual reminders, and avail a much more detailed, step-by-step directional guidance.

To counter privacy concerns, the device's LED indicator will light up whenever visual information is streamed to Siri. As far as their physical attributes are concerned, the new camera-equipped AirPods Pro apparently resemble the AirPods Pro 3, but with a larger stem to accommodate the cameras.

While Apple had originally planned to unveil the all-new camera-equipped AirPods Pro earlier this year, the launch was pushed back as Apple's AI efforts remained in shambles. Now, however, as Apple is working towards launching a new chatbot-style Siri this September by leveraging a bespoke Google Gemini model in the cloud, the much-anticipated camera-equipped AirPods Pro are also seemingly heading towards a fall debut.

Meanwhile, Apple's upcoming display-less smart glasses will likely launch by early 2027, and come equipped with integrated cameras, microphones, and speakers, enabling the wearer to interact via an improved version of its bespoke AI assistant, Siri.

These new camera-equipped smart glasses will be able to capture photos and videos, sync with an iPhone for post-capture editing and sharing, handle phone calls, keep a tab on notifications, play music, and enable hands-free interaction via Siri.

Also, Apple is designing an AI-enabled pendant around the size of an AirTag. The device is expected to serve as an always-on camera, replete with a microphone to act as a conduit for channeling commands to Siri. Unlike the Humane AI Pin, Apple's AI pendant will not sport a projector or a display system. It would also rely heavily on its iPhone counterpart for most processing despite sporting an onboard chip, albeit comparable in power to the one that is housed within the AirPods or the Apple Watch. Even so, Apple engineers are still undecided whether to equip the AI pendant with dedicated speakers.

At any rate, Apple's incoming CEO, John Ternus, is quite confident of the success of these new products, recently teasing in an internal discussion that Apple was "about to change the world" again, essentially comparing these products to some of the company's most iconic launches, which include the iPhone and iPod.
