Apple Expanding HomePod Reach To Japan and Taiwan Later This Summer
As we have mentioned earlier, Apple's Siri-powered smart speaker is making its way to Japan and Taiwan later this summer. In Japan, the HomePod will feature a price tag of ¥32,800 while customers in Taiwan will be able to get their hands on speaker for NT$9,900.
Apple's HomePod smart speaker was launched back at the start of 2018 and the product took its time reaching to other major markets across the globe. At this point in time, HomePod is only available in select regions which include the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, Mexico, Spain, China, Hong Kong, and Germany.
While the market share of HomePod is nothing special at this stage, the company is working to raise the bar with promotions. For instance, the company did lower the price of its smart assistant to $299 from $349 and potentially, price is a major contributing factor considering the speaker's share.
