Second-generation AirTag to offer three times the range of the first iteration to provide more convenience to owners looking for their misplaced items, more features arriving

On X, an account with the handle @Kosutami_Ito believes that Apple’s updated AirTag will arrive in May or June, though an exact month was not mentioned. The post below does not mention any specific information, but details regarding the second-generation AirTag have been mentioned on previous occasions. This addition will increase the second-generation AirTag’s range by three times. The current version’s range is up to 30 meters, with the newer model offering a figure of a maximum of 90 meters. This ultrawide-band chip is expected to be on par with the silicon found inside the iPhone 15. Additionally, the new tracker could feature a louder speaker to make it easier to locate, not to mention increased battery life. Given the convenience of swapping out an old CR2032 battery with a new one, we expect Apple to retain the aspect of switching out the cell in the new tracker.

If you cannot wait for a couple of months for the second-generation AirTag to arrive, you can avail some decent savings by getting the 4-pack bundle of Apple’s first-generation tracker, which is available for $67.99 on Amazon, making it the lowest price for owning four of these. While it is possible to get a single unit for $22.99, the 4-pack offers exceptional value and can be used to keep tabs on a number of your belongings.
