Apple has seen fit to release the eighth beta of its upcoming iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26, alongside additional updates to developers for testing purposes and curation of bugs before the big release next month. The latest update arrives a week after the seventh beta was seeded to developers, which shows the company’s ongoing commitment towards making the platform more stable. If you are a developer, you can download and install the latest updates on your compatible devices right now through the Settings app.
iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS 26 beta 8 released for developers, bringing enhanced stability and changes to the platform
As mentioned earlier, registered developers can download and install the latest update iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 beta 8 on their compatible iPhone models through the Settings app on their iPhone. All you have to do is head over to the stock Settings app and navigate to General > Software Update > Beta Updates and then follow the on-screen instructions to download the latest builds. The process is the same for the iPad, so you can follow it as is. Before you download the update, you also have to make sure that your Apple ID is connected to your Developer Account, otherwise the OTA update will not show up on your supported device.
Apple has also released macOS Tahoe 26 to developers, which can be downloaded on all compatible Macs through the Software Update mechanism in System Settings. As mentioned, you have to make sure that your Apple ID is linked to your Developer Account to receive the update over the air. Apart from this, Apple has also released visionOS 26, watchOS 26, and tvOS 26 beta 8 to developers, which can also be downloaded on all compatible devices. iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS 26 are major updates as they bring significant visual changes to the mix, which the company is calling the Liquid Glass design.
Apple is expected to host its iPhone 17 event next month, possibly on 9th September and after the flagship devices have been announced, the company will soon release the latest updates for all of its devices.
