Only yesterday, the M5 Max sporting an 18-core CPU, 40-core GPU, nano-texture display, 8TB SSD, and 128GB of unified RAM was available on Apple’s website for $9,199, as seen in the image below. Now, the exact same configuration for the 16-inch MacBook Pro will set you back $10,149, a $950 difference.
Those who bit the bullet earlier and made a sale prior to the price hike are some of the most fortunate individuals you’ll find in Apple’s community, with one person successfully saving nearly $3,000 on the maxed-out configuration just days before the dreaded announcement. Sadly, not everyone was lucky, especially those who had to pay the sum of a used car to get their hands on a souped-up MacBook Pro.
