Plausible

Apple is still a fair distance away from unveiling the 2027-launching iPhone 20. Yet, the iPhone has been the focus of supply chain leaks for quite some time, which is hardly a surprise given the quantum of change that Apple is reportedly bringing to the proverbial table.

Now, a well-known tipster has tried to wholly demystify the iPhone 20 by pairing feature leaks with plausible speculation.

Apple iPhone 20 to sport an all-glass look, replete with solid-state buttons, a quad-curved display, and hefty use of under-display tech, and topped off with a massive battery

The Weibo-based tipster Instant Digital has now penned an interesting post, detailing some of the most anticipated features of the Apple iPhone 20 (machine translated):

"Guess what features Apple will include in the 20th anniversary iPhone:

Solid-state button (Latest progress: Accurate pressure recognition testing completed under conditions of gloves, wet hands, extreme temperatures, and through a case. Operation recognition is achieved using an ultra-low-power chip even when the phone is powered off)
Under-display Face ID (UDIR, under-display infrared)
Dual-layer OLED screen
Under-display sound (eliminating the earpiece gap)
Under-display front camera
Approximately 6000mAh battery
Enabled reverse wireless charging
Ceramic Shield Ultra (a name I made up; the screen remains scratch-free even after being kept in my pocket with my keys for months)"

Of course, we already know that the iPhone 20 will sport solid-state buttons that complement its 'uniform slab of glass' look. However, Instant Digital has now provided some critical ancillary information. Firstly, these solid-state buttons will apparently work with gloves, wet hands, and even through a case. Secondly, Apple will use an ultra-low-power chip to keep the buttons responsive even when the phone has been powered off.

What's more, the tipster believes that the Apple iPhone 20 will sport an under-display Face ID module, selfie camera, and speakers. Do note that another Weibo-based tipster, Fixed Focus Digital, recently reported that Apple was encountering problems moving some of the components beneath the display layer. If these production kinks are not resolved soon, we will likely get a hole-punch selfie camera on the iPhone 20.

Elsewhere, the tipster notes that Apple's 20th anniversary iPhone will sport a dual-OLED screen. We already know that the iPhone 20 will feature a quad-curved display that leverages TFE (Thin-Film Encapsulation) technology to prevent moisture build-up in the curved OLED area.

Also, the iPhone 20 will sport a 6,000mAh battery, replete with reverse wireless charging. It will also sport a special ceramic coating that resists scratches. And, with all of these innovations in the offing, the iPhone 20 is likely to be quite pricey.
