Apple is preparing to give its upcoming iPhone lineup a fresh twist with new color options. The company has traditionally leaned on safe and subtle finishes, but the latest official details shared by a prominent analyst suggest that the next models will break away from that mold and offer bolder and more eye-catching options.
Apple’s September 9 ‘Awe Dropping’ event will highlight the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Air, alongside other launches
Apple just announced the launch date of the iPhone 17 lineup, as it is officially slated to host the ‘Awe Dropping’ event on September 9. We are expecting the company to announce the new iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, and the iPhone 17 Pro models alongside new Apple Watch models and AirPods. We have also previously covered that the iPhone 17 Pro models will come in a new orange finish, and it appears that the rumors were true.
Mark Gurman reposted the announcement of the event on X and stated that the orange color in the interactive Apple logo is hinting at the new color option for the iPhone 17 Pro models, while the blue color hints at the color of the iPhone 17 Air. What this means is that the company has indirectly confirmed the new rumored color options, which will be making their way to the iPhone lineup. While we are not sure about the orange iPhone 17 Pro, we believe that the blue color of the iPhone 17 Air will be pretty similar to that of the Sky Blue M4 MacBook Air.
Other than this, Gurman also notes that the ‘Awe Dropping’ term is used to describe the thinness and lightness of the iPhone 17 Air. This is also an indication that the ultra-thin iPhone will be the highlight of the event, potentially raking in attention from the iPhone 17 Pro models as well. However, it remains to be seen if the company will build hype around the ‘Pro’ models and the new Apple Watch models, but from what we can observe, the company is as excited to showcase the iPhone 17 Air as the customers.
We will be sharing more details on the products, so be sure to keep an eye out. Let us know in the comments which iPhone model you are most excited about?
