Android 14 QPR1 Is Finally Rolling Out With December Security Update

Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2.1 is Now Rolling Out For All Supported Pixel Devices with Several Bug Fixes

The time is finally here, as Google has just started rolling out the stable Android 14 QPR1 update to all supported Pixel devices, and of course, it comes with the Feature Drop that the company had promised, as well. The Pixel phones that are now receiving the update are 5a, 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, 7 Pro, 7a, Tablet, Fold, 8, and 8 Pro.

Android 14 QPR 1 brings a lot of impressive changes to all supported Pixel devices

Once you are updated to the Android 14 QPR1, you will get a new feature on Pixel Fold, and the Tablet will now be able to use a specific aspect ratio. Users will get the chance to choose from Full screen, Half screen, and 16:9 if they are on the tablet. Google is currently calling this an experimental feature, and you can access it from Settings > Apps > Aspect Ratio or from the App info menu.

In addition to that, with the Android 14 QPR 1, you can go to Settings > About Phone > Battery Information, and you will now find the Manufacture date and Cycle count of your phone. In addition to that, you are also getting the "Metro" lock screen clock.

Moving further with the Android 14 QPR1, there is another small change. The Wallpaper & style introduce a new particle effect when changing backgrounds. Pixel Launcher has also received a change to Search preferences and now has a better, more prominent shortcut.

Then we get to Quick Settings. With the new Android 14 QPR1, you will be able to get a better understanding of the Tiles. Pixel Tablet will show a more prominent toast message every time your fingerprint isn't recognized.

Last but not least, the Android 14 QPR1 will show the weather for your cities on the Clock app.

Google has also fixed 33 security issues in the Android 14 December patch, which is dated 2023-12-01, and 61 for 2023-12-05.
