Julian Assange of WikiLeaks fame is free from jail and apparently debt-free as well, thanks to the Bitcoin-based generosity of an anonymous Samaritan. Now, however, Andrew Tate presumably wants everyone to believe that he was the anonymous donor behind this philanthropic initiative.
For the benefit of those who might not be aware, Julian Assange won his freedom this week from a roughly 5-year stint in UK's Belmarsh prison following a plea deal with US authorities, one that saw the co-founder of WikiLeaks admit to one count of espionage.
While conceding in a UK court on Monday that he broke US laws by encouraging the disclosure of classified information, Assange nonetheless maintained that he viewed the Espionage Act of the US as violative of free speech principles. As per the terms of the deal, the UK judge sentenced Julian Assange to the time already served in the Belmarsh prison, allowing him to walk away from the court as a free man.
Julian Assange arrived in Australia on Wednesday aboard a chartered flight that his wife arranged for roughly $500,000. To cover this "massive debt," Mrs Assange had also appealed for "emergency donations."

He has also received over £300k in fiat donations so far

This brings us to the crux of the matter. A single anonymous donor has contributed 8 Bitcoins to Julian Assange's wallet, netting him around $500,000. Mr. Assange has also received 300,000 Pound Sterling ($378,000) in fiat donations. This means that Julian Assange landed in his home country today virtually debt free.

Of course, this episode has not prevented Andrew Tate from chiming in. The controversial influencer has posted a gift box emoji in response to the X post that detailed Julian Assange's Bitcoin-based donations, leading many to conclude that Tate was indeed trying to take credit for this bout of generosity.
If Andrew Tate was indeed the anonymous donor, he certainly conducted himself in an uncharacteristic fashion in this instance, choosing to eschew his usual flamboyant style that centers on hyping up even mundane tasks and initiatives. It is hardly surprising, therefore, that the vast majority of comments under Tate's X post are quite skeptical of his implied claims.
