Finally, the most popular AMD GPUs are visible in the Steam database after their launch nearly one year ago.

May 2026 Steam Hardware Survey Reveals RX 9070 XT With 1.33% Share While RX 9060 XT Appears With 0.72% Share After Missing For a Whole Year

From the time of the launch of RDNA 4 GPUs, most RX 9000 series GPUs never made it to the Steam Hardware Survey. Despite seeing some of the RDNA 4 GPUs dominate the charts on major retailers, they remained absent from the Steam database, while the GeForce RTX 50 series continued to climb up with its offerings. Mid-range GPUs such as the RTX 5070 and RTX 5060 Ti continue to see a rise in GPU share almost every month, while most RX 9000 GPUs did not even appear once.

Occasionally, we saw the Radeon RX 9070 with a small share on Steam, but the more popular RX 9070 XT variant always remained missing. However, the GPU is finally on the charts, and it's not just with a sub-1% share as one would assume; it has already exceeded 1% share on its first appearance. As per the May 2026 Steam Hardware Survey, the flagship RDNA 4 GPU, aka Radeon RX 9070 XT, has appeared with a good 1.33% share.

It's a sudden appearance after missing the surveys for nearly one year. In May, however, the GPU jumped to a 1.33% share unexpectedly, making it more popular than many RTX 30 and RTX 40 series cards. It's still way behind when compared to the current-gen NVIDIA RTX 50 series cards such as the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070, but compared to the RTX 5080, it's not that far. RTX 5080 currently has a 1.47% share on Steam. So, the gap isn't that big and could easily shrink in the next month, considering the RX 9070 XT improved its share from 1.24% to 1.33% in just the last 24 hours.

In the budget segment, the Radeon RX 9060 XT is also finally here. From 0% share to 0.72% share, one of the most popular budget GPUs in the current gen has finally grabbed its share on the Steam charts. However, it's still far behind its direct rival from NVIDIA, which is currently sitting at over 2.0% share. Nonetheless, with more users registering their configuration with Steam, one should expect these numbers to increase in the coming months, but it will take a long time for AMD to enter the top 10 positions.
