The claim about being the fastest in all segments seems true, as AMD's latest processors dominate virtually all segments.

AMD Has Now Secured the First and Second Position In the Top500 Supercomputers and Also the Leading Performance Numbers with Threadripper, Ryzen AI Max, and Ryzen 9000 Chips

AMD may not necessarily have to boast about being at the top of the charts we have seen plenty of benchmarks putting AMD above Intel. Whether it is the mainstream consumer segment CPUs or the server-grade chips, AMD's recently launched high-performance CPUs have taken the top spots in most benchmarks, claiming the title of being the manufacturer of the "World's Fastest Processors".

In a slide, AMD boasts about dominating the CPU market, including Cloud, Enterprise, and AI with its EPYC 9005 series, HEDT & mainstream workstation segment with the Threadripper 9000 series, and also the gaming segment with Ryzen 9000X3D chips. AMD also shares its achievement for taking the Gold and Silver spots in the latest Top500 supercomputers on earth, but that data is from November 2024. However, even the latest June 2025 data shows AMD in the first and second positions with EPYC-based EL Captain and Frontier supercomputers, respectively.

The Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9000 WX series, which was launched recently, has already surpassed Intel's Xeon 6 family, and the Threadripper 9000 is also offering leading performance in the workstation segment, delivering up to 30% generational uplifts. That said, all the Zen 5-based processor lineups have proved to be the best in the market, with the Ryzen 9000 series replacing all the available modern CPU lineups in gaming workloads.

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D is currently the world's fastest gaming processor, but the 9800X3D is equivalent in gaming workloads as well. In the mobile segment, the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D has shown incredible gaming and productivity prowess, and the Ryzen AI Max series is now the only Windows processor that can run 128B parameter models locally. Not to mention, the custom Ryzen Z2 series based on the Zen 5 architecture is getting quick adoption from gaming handheld manufacturers and offers leading iGPU performance.
