AMD launched its Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktop CPUs last month and all chips, including Ryzen 9 9950X, Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 7 9700X & Ryzen 5 9600X have seen price cuts of up to -12%.
AMD Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktop CPU Prices Continue To Fall, Up To 12% Lower Versus MSRP & Lower Prices on All SKUs Including Ryzen 9 9950X, Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 7 9700X & Ryzen 5 9600X
Last month, AMD introduced its first Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktop CPUs. The lineup hit shelves in two waves with the Ryzen 7 9700X & Ryzen 5 9600X being made available on 8th August & higher-end Ryzen 9 9950X & Ryzen 9 9900X CPUs being made available on the 15th of August. Technically, it's been less than a month and the CPUs are already seeing double-digit price drops as reported by us a few days ago.
Now, the AMD Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktop CPUs are listed for even lower prices which bodes well for those who were waiting for these chips but weren't satisfied by the perf/$ showcased in reviews during launch day. The CPUs have also received patches through Windows and more are coming soon that will further elevate their gaming performance (older Ryzen CPUs and in some cases, Intel, CPUs are also showcasing uplifts with these updates).
So a few days ago, we reported that the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X was available for $623 US versus its official MSRP of $649 US. Now, Microcenter is listing the same chip for $619.99 US which is a 4.6% price drop and an instant $30 US saving. The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X was previously down to $449.99 US which was $50 US savings over the MSRP but it has since fallen to $439.99 US, marking a 12% price drop through Microcenter.
But that's not all, even the mainstream Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 CPUs are witnessing price drops now. The AMD Ryzen 7 9700X is currently available for $349.99 US through Antonline, a $10 US savings and a 2.7% drop versus the $359 US MSRP while the Ryzen 5 9600X is available for $259.99 US, a $20 US savings versus the $279 US MSRP and a 7.1% price drop. It's not just one retailer who is offering these discounts there are many major retailers, all of which have listed the Zen 5 CPUs at reduced prices and we have the full list below:

Once again, the price cuts are decent but we can expect further drops in September and October as we get closer to the launch of the Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs. The AMD Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktop CPUs are decent in performance but their gains weren't as big as anticipated. The efficiency is also nice and the temperature drop versus the Ryzen 7000 is very much appreciated though it will take a few more price adjustments before these chips can be fully recommended to PC Builders. At least retailers are offering bundled deals which do look a bit more attractive and we have a few of those listed here.
