AMD's Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" CPUs are now seeing bigger price cuts just a month after their launch at retailers such as Microcenter.

AMD Ryzen 9950X Drops Down To $589, 9900X For $439 & 9700X For $319 As Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" CPUs Approach 2nd Month Since Launch

Earlier this month, we reported that AMD's Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktop CPUs had witnessed up to a 12% drop in prices and now, retailers are further slashing down the price to attract more gamers towards the newer chips.

In the latest price cut spree, Microcenter has led all retailers in offering the best deals on the AMD Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktop CPU family. As of right now, the retailer offers the flagship AMD Ryzen 9 9950X CPU, which is a 16-core part, for $589.99 US versus its $649.99 US MSRP. This marks a -9.2 percent price cut which is the lowest price we have seen so far.

Moving to the other SKUs, the AMD Ryzen 9 9900X can still be bought for the $439.99 US price and that's a good bit lower than the $499.99 US MSRP, marking a 12% price drop. It looks like the CPU is going to end up around the $400 US mark in a few months if the price drops continue. Lastly, we have the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X which is now available for as low as $319.99 US versus its $359.99 US MSRP, marking a -11% price drop. The Ryzen 5 9600X is also available for $10 US lower at $269.99 US but we have previously seen prices as low as $259 US.

It should also be pointed out that all AMD Ryzen 9000 CPUs in the Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 9 segment "Zen 4 + Zen 5" are eligible for two free game copies including Space Marine II and Unknown 9 Awakening. Microcenter also offers bundled deals and extra savings when buying compatible products with Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" CPUs such as an AM5 motherboard or a memory kit. One such bundle is the Ryzen 7 9700X with a Gigabyte B650 Gaming motherboard and 32 GB DDR5-6000 memory for $449.99 US.

Given that the general reception towards AMD's Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktop CPUs hasn't been strong, we can expect some aggressive price cuts in the coming months, especially with the launch of the Ryzen 9000X3D 3D V-Cache parts. Gamers are likely going to end up getting an X3D variant as these remain the most popular choice in the DIY market. Intel will also be launching its Arrow Lake-S Desktop CPUs next month and AMD will have to tackle them with their existing Zen 5 chips until the X3D part comes out.
