AMD's next-gen Ryzen 8000 APU codenamed Strix Point has been spotted within the MilkyWay@home database.

AMD Ryzen 8000 "Strix Point" APU Spotted: Early ES Chip With 12 Zen 5 Cores

The MilkyWay@home database has been the source of several leaks over the past few years. We have seen Zen 3 and Zen 4 CPU samples leak through it and now we have Zen 5 samples leaking out within the database.

The latest leak is from the engineering sample "100-000000994-03_N" which is part of the AMD Family 26 Model 32 Stepping 0. This family string belongs to the Strix Point lineup which will be featuring the next-generation Zen 5 CPU architecture and RDNA 3.5  GPU architecture. A lot has been detailed about Strix Point but this is the first time that we have seen an engineering sample leak online.

Talking about specifications, the AMD Strix Point "Ryzen 8000" APU features 12 Zen 5 cores which are evidenced by the 24 "processor count". The processor count within this specific database usually refers to the threads. This means that we will be getting a core count bump on the Strix Point APUs. This confirms an earlier rumor which pointed to 12 Zen 5 cores for Strix Point in its monolithic variant and up to 16 cores in its "Halo" chiplet variation. The rest of the details aren't useful but it confirms that AMD does have Strix Point in some form and capacity running within its labs.

We are most likely going to get these APUs as the AMD Ryzen 8055 series (Ryzen 8000 APU lineup) with the following set of features:

Just earlier, it was confirmed that AMD's Strix Point APUs under the Ryzen 8000 family will be using the new GFX115* GPU IP. The new RDNA 3.5 graphics architecture is expected to bring a nice boost in performance which should compete ideally against Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake CPUs when the chips launch next year.
