AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D Launches at $499; Buy the Processor From These Major Retailers

Yesterday, the review for AMD's new fastest gaming processor, i.e., Ryzen 7 9850X3D, went live, and today, the processor has started hitting the retail stores. Succeeding the 9800X3D, the Ryzen 9850X3D is currently the best gaming processor one can buy, and the processor can be found on multiple retailers for its MSRP. As you might know, the processor has been launched at $499, $20 higher than the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, making it more expensive.

However, those who want the leading gaming performance can get the newer chip for the highest possible frame rates. The Ryzen 9850X3D brings a 400 MHz higher boost clock out of the box versus the Ryzen 9800X3D, but retains the rest of the specs, including base clock, 96 MB L3 cache, 2x CU RDNA 3.5 GPU, and a TDP of 120 W. The processor brings noticeable performance gains in games and applications, and is available on the following stores for purchase:

  1. Amazon at $499
  2. Newegg at $499
  3. B&H Photo Video at $499

Not every major retailer has listed the processor, but one should expect its appearance in a day or two. You can check your country's Amazon store to see if the processor is available, but as far as Amazon US goes, the processor is currently in stock for MSRP. Similarly, both Newegg and B&HPhotoVideo have listed the CPU for $499. Walmart and Best Buy don't have it at the moment, but at Micro Center, we could only find a pre-built gaming PC equipped with the 9850X3D.

If you prefer to buy a whole PC instead, then consider the PowerSpec G762 Gaming PC that pairs the Ryzen 7 9850X3D with the GeForce RTX 5080. The rig also brings a good 64 GB DDR5-6000 RAM and 2 TB NVMe SSD. Priced at $2999, the gaming PC is definitely a good deal, given the current state of RAM and SSDs. We will update this post as we see more retailers listing the Ryzen 7 9850X3D processor. Meanwhile, you can check out the best motherboards for Ryzen 9850X3D if you want to push your processor to its full potential.
