The hotfix came just after a day when users started reporting errors on their Windows 10 systems.
AMD Releases Hotfix to Fix Yellow Bang Problem in Windows 10 After Several Reports Regarding Adrenalin 26.6.2 on RX 7000 Series
Just yesterday, AMD acknowledged a new problem with its recent Adrenalin driver on Windows 10. If you read our report, you might know that many users complained about compatibility issues concerning Adrenalin Edition 26.6.2, which adds FSR 4.1 support to RDNA 3, aka Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards.
The problem also showed in the form of a yellow bang in Device Manager, for which AMD recommended downgrading to the Adrenalin 26.6.1 driver to mitigate the issue. Most of the reports were concerning the RX 7000 series on Windows 10, although some were also related to the RX 9000 series. AMD previously said that its engineers are working to fix the problem and has today launched a hotfix driver for the same.
In a new article, AMD let all users know that it has rolled out the Adrenalin Edition 26.6.3 Hotfix Preview Driver that fixes the compatibility error users were seeing on their Windows 10 systems. It's specifically for the Adrenalin 26.6.2, which was having problems with Windows 10, and particularly on the RX 7000 series.
That said, if you have still installed version 26.6.2, AMD recommends downgrading to an older version using the AMD Cleanup Utility. Now that the Adrenalin 26.6.3 Hotfix Preview driver is out, users with Windows 10 64-bit 21H2 and later can install it to solve the yellow bang error and enjoy the latest FSR 4.1 upscaler with their RX 7000 series GPUs.
