AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 Series Witnesses Strong Demand From China; Initial Pre-Orders Show RX 9070 XT To Be The Popular Choice

AMD's RX 9070 series is witnessing strong demand from China, as the initial pre-order numbers are much higher compared to NVIDIA's recent GPU launches.

AMD's Radeon RX 9070 GPUs Sees Pre-Orders Open Up In China "Exclusively" For Now; Demand Much Better Than NVIDIA

Well, with the RDNA 4 GPU showcase, the consumer markets have indeed started to react positively to the release. Team Red's Radeon RX 9070 GPUs not only come with some of the best price-to-performance ratios, but with AMD ensuring ample availability, it seems like demand will be pretty solid. This is what we are seeing with the pre-orders as well, which have been exclusively opened up in China, and the figures disclosed (via Uniko's Hardware) show that demand for the XT variant is relatively much higher in the region.

The above pre-order numbers are compiled by DIY-APE, a renowned Chinese media outlet, and based on this, it is safe to say that consumers will definitely prefer the Radeon RX 9070 XT over the non-XT counterpart. The total number of units pre-ordered in this particular list is 1,535, and out of those, 916 account for the flagship RDNA 4 GPU, which shows that the hype will definitely be around this model. And, this is surely justified, given the pricing of the GPU, along with the current options available in the market from competitors like AMD.

AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT For $649 & RX 9070 For $599 Launched: RDNA 4 GPU Up To 2.97 GHz, 16 GB Memory, Up To 68% Faster Than 7900 GRE 6

Interestingly, this pre-order list represents a tiny portion of the current demand in the global markets, and given the availability fiasco with NVIDIA's RTX Blackwell GPUs, mainstream consumers will definitely look towards AMD's RX 9070 series as the alternative choice. And, to top it all off, Team Red is said to bring in better availability, which means there will be enough GPUs for everyone to get them around launch dates; at least, this is what AMD has told us in the past.

For now, all eyes are on Team Red's RX 9070 series retail launch, which is set to take place on March 5 and will show us how the inventory levels are with the lineup. Retailers have already started to prepare for the release, and it is safe to say that exciting days are ahead of us.
