AMD's "mid-range" Radeon RX 9060 XT is expected to debut by May, competing with NVIDIA's RTX 5060 series and potentially dominating the segment.
AMD's Next RDNA 4 GPU Launch To Occur In May; Radeon RX 9060 XT Expected To Dominate The Mid-Range GPU Segment
Yesterday, we saw the release of NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, which is available in 8 GB and 16GB variants and offers rather impressive MSRP pricing. With that, it is safe to say that the competition in the mid-range segment is heating up, and in the midst of it, it is claimed (via Chiphell) that the Radeon RX 9060 XT is expected to debut in May, right around the Computex event. AMD hasn't disclosed plans for their next GPU launch yet, so it seems likely that Team Red will launch its next lineup at the next big event.

NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5060 Ti didn't receive a great reception, given that the GPU is listed for MSRP-above pricing. Team Green has also failed to deliver on inventory levels, which is disappointing. So, with the Radeon RX 9060 XT, AMD needs to focus specifically on this particular element, not only offering competitive pricing but also maintaining inventory levels to sustain the market's demand.

In terms of what we know about the Radeon RX 9060 XT, the GPU will feature the Navi 44 die on a 128-bit bus interface, coming in both 8GB/16GB configurations, similar to the NVIDIA counterpart. Moreover, the GPU is said to feature 2,048 SPs, half of the Radeon RX 9070 XT, with game clocks configured at 2620 MHz and boost clocks at 3230 MHz. Compared to the generational counterpart, the Radeon RX 7600 XT, the RDNA 4 GPU will feature impressive uplifts.
As the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti dropped to $379/$429, we expected AMD to increase the competition by potentially dropping the RX 9060 XT models at lower pricing. For now, the anticipated release is around Computex, but stay tuned since AMD's plans tend to change quickly.
