More Ryzen 9000 CPUs are incoming, including a new desktop chip without an iGPU and a few Pro series processors for enterprises.
ASUS Confirms Upcoming PRO Series 9000 Processors As Well As the Ryzen 7 9700F, the First Zen 5 Desktop CPU Without an iGPU
Last month, we reported on AMD's first Ryzen 9000 CPU without integrated graphics, which has now been confirmed by ASUS through its CPU support list filter. The Ryzen 7 9700F will be an iteration of the Ryzen 7 9700X, but it will have no integrated graphics processing unit (iGPU) to support display, which means users will need to use a dedicated graphics card for display output.
The CPU was spotted by @momomo_us on the ASUS website, which also confirms a few specifications for the processor, including the base clock, cache, TDP, and core count. It's basically a 9700X with a base clock of 3.8 GHz, but the boost clock is unknown. It will have the same 8-core/16-thread configuration and an L3 cache of 32 MB. Rated at 65W, the processor will be a good alternative to the 9700X for those who want to save some bucks and invest in a dGPU.
Apart from the mainstream Ryzen 9000 CPUs, AMD is also reportedly preparing the PRO 9000 series as spotted on ASUS's website. If you search for the Ryzen PRO 9000 CPUs, you will find three SKUs, namely:
- Ryzen PRO 9 9945: 12 cores/ 24 threads, base: 3.4 GHz, TDP: 65W, L3 Cache: 64 MB
- Ryzen PRO 7 9745: 8 cores/ 16 threads, base: 3.8 GHz, TDP: 65W, L3 Cache: 32 MB
- Ryzen PRO 5 9645: 6 cores/ 12 threads, base: 3.9 GHz, TDP: 65W, L3 Cache: 32 MB
These are the successors to the Ryzen PRO 7000 series, and we have the same core/thread configuration as before. Unlike the Threadripper 9000 and Threadripper PRO 9000 WX series, the Ryzen PRO 9000 will target the low-end enterprise segment, offering a solution similar to the mainstream consumer Ryzen 9000 processors. This is why we see the same specifications for the Ryzen PRO 7 9745 as on the Ryzen 7 9700F.
The slowest will be the Ryzen PRO 5 9645, which will have almost the same specs as the Ryzen 5 9600X, except that we don't know its boost clock. In the higher-end category, AMD seems to have only 12-core/24-thread variant for the PRO 9000 series, but we don't know if it has plans to release a 16-core SKU as well. The Ryzen PRO 9 9945 is 1 GHz slower in the base clock than the Ryzen 9 9900X despite featuring the same core/thread configuration. It will be rated at a lower 65W compared to 120W 9900X processor but will have the same 64 MB L3 cache.
AMD hasn't announced these CPUs officially but it's likely that we are going to see more about these chips in the coming weeks.
