AMD's partners have revealed 30th September to be the launch for their X870E & X870 motherboards and also revealed the prices.
AMD X870E & X870 motherboard prices will start at 2099 Yuan, all the way up to 4999 Yuan for high-end models, launching on 30th September
The AMD X870E and X870 motherboards have been in the talks for several weeks now but no official date for the launch has been revealed yet we reported the exact release date months back. It was expected that the X870E and X870 boards will debut this month and we finally have a date when most motherboard makers will launch their X870E and X870 lineups.
All major motherboard vendors including MSI, ASUS, Gigabyte, and ASRock will launch their X870E and X870 series motherboards on 30th September at 21:00 Beijing time in China. The AMD X870 motherboards will be cheaper than the X870E counterparts and customers in China can purchase one for as low as 2099 Yuan. The ASRock X870 Pro RS WiFi will be available for 2099 Yuan but we don't know the pricing for the non-WiFi edition, which should be even cheaper.
2099 Yuan translates to USD 298, which is $100 more expensive than the expected price for the motherboard in North America. The ASUS Prime X870-P is slightly over 2100 Yuan or around US$300. In the X870E lineup, the Gigabyte X870E AORUS PRO ICE and the MSI MPG X870E Carbon WiFi are the cheapest boards, each one costing about 3499 Yuan or US$497. We know from a recent listing that Gigabyte X870E AORUS PRO ICE costs $299.99. So, the price in the Chinese market is almost $200 higher.
The mid-range and high-end segments include more premium boards such as Gigabyte X870E AORUS Master which will cost about 4999 Yuan or US$710. From ASUS, it's X870E Crosshair HERO, costing 4800 Yuan or US$682. The X870E ProArt Creator WiFi will cost 4600 Yuan or US$654 and the ASRock X870E Taichi, which is the flagship board from ASRock will be priced at 4299 Yuan or US$611.

We have covered many of these motherboards in brief in our previous posts but some of the specifications and component support are still unknown. Most motherboard manufacturers are offering several budget, mid-range, and enthusiast-grade X870 and X870E motherboards, which will feature native PCI-E Gen 5.0 support and dual USB4 C ports for high-bandwidth devices.
The X870E/X870 motherboards will come with support for the AMD Ryzen 9000 series CPUs out of the box without any BIOS upgrade and will feature higher memory clock support than the X670E/X670 motherboards. There are only a few days left before we can dive into the specifications of each model in detail but users who can't wait for these can also buy the X670E and X670 motherboards, which offer full support for the Zen 5 processors as well.
