AMD Unveils Kabini APU At CES 2013 – First Performance Figures Unveiled

AMD demonstrated working samples of its upcoming Kabini APU at CES 2013 which would be the company's first true x86 based Quad Core SOC planned for launch in first half of 2013 along with the Temash APU.

AMD's Kabini APU would be available as an Entry Level chip for ultra-thin notebooks delivering upto twice the performance improvement compared to Brazos 2.0 with much better battery life. The flagship of the Kabini APU lineup has been confirmed to be the Kabini X4 5110 while the E-Series flagship would be the E1 3110. The Kabini APUs would be powered by the latest Jaguar cores and AMD's Radeon HD 8000 series IGP.

AMD in their latest press release have provided the first performance figure of the Kabini APU which was tested at AMD Performance Labs. Following are the performance figures of the Kabini APU compared to Brazos 2.0:

AMD also demonstrated its Temash Low Power APU and compares it against an Hondo APU. Results can be seen below:

Both Kabini APU and Temash APU would debut in the first half of 2013. The performance numbers show significant improvement over their predecessors and we expect same results from the retail samples.
