UPDATE 30/1: According to AMD's Software strategy manager, Terry Makedon, there are still some issues that need to be fixed. Once fixed, a hotfix for driver 16.1 will be released.

It seems like the AMD Driver 16.1.1 will be released shortly. Nixxes, the Dutch studio behind the Rise of the Tomb Raider PC port, announced as much in its tech support guide on the Steam community forums.

AMD itself commented to Tweaktown that they're working as fast as they can to release this hotfix AMD Driver, which should bring performance improvements for AMD card owners while playing Rise of the Tomb Raider.

So far, NVIDIA has the performance edge as you can see in the benchmark analysis we posted earlier, but that could change with these new drivers. We'll be sure to update this story once the driver is officially released by AMD, so stay tuned!
