AMD's launch day for the high-end Ryzen 9 9950X3D & 9900X3D 3D V-Cache CPUs has been confirmed along with Chinese retail prices.

AMD Announces Launch Date for 12 and 16 Core Ryzen 9000X3D Processors; Leaked Prices Indicate Slightly Higher Price Tags Than Before

As AMD buckles up for the RDNA 4 launch today, it is also preparing another big launch for its CPU department. The company unveiled its Ryzen 9 9900X3D and 9950X3D processors at CES in early January, and while it announced that the CPUs would launch in the first quarter, it didn't tell us the exact date.

Up until now, we have been hearing about the launch date and pricing of these processors from leaked reports, but today, we can finally confirm that both CPUs are indeed launching on the 12th March. This coincides with an earlier report, which revealed the same launch date. As spotted by the leaker @harukaze5719, AMD has scheduled the launch of both the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D on 12th March.

As for the pricing, the leaker @9950pro spotted the early prices of both the CPUs from the JD Price Plugin. It shows the Ryzen 9 9950X3D priced at 5599 RMB, which translates to around US$772 and the Ryzen 9 9900X3D appears to be priced at 4599 RMB or US$634. These prices are subject to change as AMD hasn't officially declared the prices yet. In our previous report, we showed that the Ryzen 9 9900X3D will be priced at $599 while the 9950X3D will cost $699.

This was seen on Amazon and Newegg's early listings but nothing is final yet. Still, it's likely that both the CPUs will be priced similarly to their predecessors, i.e., the Ryzen 9 7900X3D and 7950X3D, which were launched at $599 and $699 respectively. It should be noted that these 7000X3D processors were launched at slightly lower prices (Ryzen 7950X3D for 5299 RMB and Ryzen 7900X3D for 4499 RMB).

AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D will feature 12 cores, 6 cores on each CCD with one CCD containing the extra 64 MB L3 cache. On the other hand, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D features 16 cores with a similar configuration (8 cores on each CCD) and will be identical in clocks to its non-X3D variant. These CPUs are expected to deliver leading productivity and gaming performance and will be compatible with all the AM5 chipsets, including both 600 and 800 series.
