Dell's Area-51 PC With AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Starts at $4299 & Fully-Spec'd Config Above $7000
Alienware recently launched its Area-51 Desktop PC with AMD's Ryzen 9000 & Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs. The gaming PC offers full-on ATX hardware, delivering impressive capabilities for pre-built gamers.
Today, Alienware is updating its Area-51 Desktop PC with AMD's newly launched Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 CPU, delivering faster speeds of up to 5.6 GHz, and the same 2nd Gen 3D V-Cache that pumps up the cache to 208 MB with dual 3D Stacked dies.
With this upgrade, the Area-51 Gaming Desktop is even faster, enabling powerful performance for high-end workstation users, gamers, and the ability to customize the hardware with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU, 64 GB of DDR5 memory, and 4 TB of storage space.
The Alienware Area-51 Desktop PC features an ATX motherboard based on the AMD AM5 socket and X870E chipset, offering a 10+2+2 phase VRM design, three PCIe slots (1x Gen5 x16, 1x Gen4 x2, 1x Gen3 x1). The memory options come in 32 GB and 64 GB with up to 6400 MT/s support. Storage options come in 1 TB, 2 TB Gen5, and 4 TB, 6 TB, 8 TB, 12 TB Gen4 options with triple M.2 slots.
The chassis itself is an 80.5L design with Alienware's AlienFX Lightning system, and includes a choice of 850W or 1500W PSU. The cooling is handled by the company's pre-installed 240mm or 3600mm AIO, as well as the ability to upgrade to a self-purchased 420mm AIO. Additionally, the Area-51 desktop runs 13% cooler, 45% quieter, and offers 25% airflow than previous Area-51 models. The chassis also supports GPUs with up to 450mm length and a 4-slot wide interface.
All combined, the system sustains over 200W of CPU power and up to 600W of graphics power at full load. You also get modern IO capabilities such as 2.5GbE LAN, Wi-Fi 7, BT 5.4, and a good variety of USB Type-C and Type-A ports.
Area-51 Desktop PCs configured with an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 CPU, RTX 5070 GPU, 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB Gen5 SSD, and an 850W PSU will start at $4299, while the fully decked out configurations with an RTX 5090 GPU, 64 GB DDR5 memory, 4 TB Gen5 SSD, and a 1500W PSU will retail for over $7000 US. You can check out the configurations and customize them at Dell's official store page.
