Apple is planning to launch its highly anticipated AirPods Pro 3 soon at its 'Awe Dropping' event, and the wearable is expected to bring a plethora of new pro-level features to the table. The earbuds are slated to come with new health sensors, which would be part of the company’s health-focused ecosystem. However, the AirPods Pro 3 will miss out on one of the most highly anticipated features, at least at launch.
Apple’s upcoming AirPods Pro 3 will debut with health-focused sensors, but delay its anticipated live translation feature at launch
According to a new leak shared by an anonymous source (via 9to5Mac), the AirPods Pro 3 will not launch with the rumored Translation feature. The technology is potentially not ready at this stage, and the company could take some time to perfect it before shipping it via a software update later in the year. However, the company’s past promises have proved to be quite misleading, as the company previously stated that it would be rolling out the Personalized Siri feature earlier this year, but then delayed it until 2026.
However, the concept of the feature is pretty slick: Your iPhone detects and recognizes the incoming speech, translates it, and then delivers the results through your AirPods. This would simplify multilingual conversations and be a must-have feature for travelers around the world, but it may not be part of the initial package. The company could announce it at its upcoming ‘Awe Dropping’ event alongside the iPhone 17 launch, but there is no information available on when the translation feature might go live.
Other than this, the AirPods Pro 3 are also expected to gain two new health sensors: one for in-ear temperature tracking and another for heart-rate monitoring. These new additions make total sense for the product as the company has recently ventured into audio-based health features. The company introduced the hearing test and Hearing Aid tools with iOS 18, and the new Powerbeats Pro already comes with heart-rate tracking. These new sensors will be part of the company’s health-tracking system and will work alongside the Apple Watch in the Health app for combined results.
Beyond the new features, the AirPods Pro 3 are also speculated to come in a sleek new design, possibly with a slimmer case, hidden LED, and a front-facing pairing button. Under the hood, the wearable will be powered by the all-new H3 chip that promises stronger ANC, improved audio quality, and overall better performance. In short, the AirPods Pro 3 are shaping up to be more than just a visual overhaul with new health-centric features and more. We will be covering the event in extensive detail, so be sure to keep an eye out.
