Android 14 introduced an interesting ability to use your Google Pixel device as a webcam. This is an excellent feature for those who want to attend meetings but use the cameras on their phones because of their better video quality. If you are wondering how to use Google Pixel as a webcam, then this guide is for you. The best thing is that it is one of the easiest processes, so you are not really going to run into any issues.

Easily use Google Pixel as a webcam with this guide

There is nothing wrong with it if you want to use Google Pixel as a webcam. Sadly, the webcams on most computers are pretty subpar, and I do understand that not a lot of people are concerned about the quality of their webcam, but if you are streaming or taking genuinely important calls and you want to be sure that there is a good impression, you are going to need a good webcam.

Again, the process is super simple. You do, however, need a Google Pixel device running on Android 14 or later. If you do have both these conditions fulfilled, then you are good to go. Let's look at how to use Google Pixel as a webcam.

Step 1: Start by connecting your Google Pixel phone to your computer using a USB Type-C cable.

Step 2: Your phone will display Charging this device via USB, tap on that.

Step 3: Now look for the option that says Webcam and tap that.

Step 4: Wait for a couple of seconds until you get another notification saying Webcam, select that.

Step 5: Now you just have to adjust the preview using the volume button; you can even pinch the screen to zoom according to your preference.

Step 6: Go to your preferred program on your desktop, like Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet, and make sure that when selecting the settings, you can select your Pixel phone as the preferred device. From that point, you will just have to be sure your phone is positioned correctly, and you should not have any issues.

Remember, if you have a non-Pixel device, you can actually go ahead and use the same feature by using the Phone Link app, as the latest update to the app allows you to do it on any phone. I was trying this feature earlier today on my Galaxy S24 Ultra, and it works without any issues.
