UAE has just announced that its AI Campus, being built with the United States, is coming online soon, housing a total AI compute capacity of 5 Gigawatts through next-gen chips.
More Gigawatt-Level AI Facilities Are Coming Online, Like The One Being Built By the UAE With Thousands of Next-Gen Chips
Last year, the UAE (United Arab Emirates) signed a deal to invest $1.4 trillion in the United States, with a total of 30 planned projects. The investment encompasses AI infrastructure, energy, and manufacturing projects, which will create thousands of jobs across America.
UAE states that a large portion of these investments will be aimed at accelerating their cooperation in advanced technology and AI. As such, a 5GW US-UAE AI Campus is being constructed, and now, 200 Megawatts of this facility are going to come online soon.
The project was initiated last year during a visit by the President of the United States, Donald J Trump, who broke ground. In November, the US approved the export of thousands of next-generation chips to enable the projects. It is stated that the first batch of these "Advanced" chips has been delivered, and more are on the way.
The 5GW US UAE AI Campus is under construction now. We broke ground during President Trump’s visit exactly a year ago. The first 200 megawatts will come online very soon.

And I’m happy to announce: the first batch of advanced chips have been delivered to the UAE, and more are on the way.
The reach of this infrastructure matters.

No details regarding the chips being used by the UAE-US AI Campus are disclosed, but it is likely that these could be none other than NVIDIA's high-performance Blackwell GPUs, which are primarily built for AI purposes.
And it doesn't stop at AI facilities; the UAE is going big on AI and has been building towards this moment for a decade now. The country appointed the world's first AI ministers all the way back in 2017, and has built the Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence, which is considered one of the world's leading AI research Universities. UAE is also part of the US's Pax-Silica initiative, which was formed last year in December and aims to secure & coordinate "trusted" supply chains for AI, Critical Materials, and advance to the next chapter in the silicon age.
