James Bond in the game 007 First Light aims a shotgun at an explosion near an SUV on an airstrip, with an on-screen display showing '237 FPS' and '4K NVIDIA DLSS 4'.

[Update - January 15, 7:15 ET] IO Interactive provided today updated 007 First Light PC system requirements, which adjust the minimum CPU requirement and lower the required RAM and VRAM across minumu and recommended specifications

At CES 2026, NVIDIA announced several PC games that will take advantage of its GeForce RTX technologies, and one of them is IO Interactive's 007 First Light.

The game will support NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, which IO Interactive said in a statement is essential to realize the studio's vision for the PC experience. Chief Technical Officer Ulas Karademir stated:

Our partnership with NVIDIA on 007 First Light allows us to deliver a PC experience that matches the level of quality we believe the Bond franchise deserves. Performance, responsiveness, and visual fidelity, it all needs to feel effortless for the player, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX technologies including DLSS 4 enables us to deliver exactly that.

In a video, we can see the game running at up to nearly 300 frames per second. We don't know the hardware that was being used, but it's safe to assume it's a GeForce RTX 5090. We also don't know if the brand new 6X Multi Frame Generation mode revealed at CES 2026 is enabled in those scenes or not. Given that the update is slated to launch in Spring, and 007 First Light is also now planned for May 27, 2026 (following a short delay), we can, however, be confident that it will be supported in the final game.

On the other hand, there's been no mention of ray tracing whatsoever, which is a bit weird because HITMAN 3 (later rebranded in World of Assassination) included ray-traced sun shadows and reflections when it launched in 2021.

Today, IO Interactive also announced the minimum and recommended PC system requirements for 007 First Light. On paper, they don't look so daunting.

The Danish development studio is still using its proprietary Glacier engine, previously seen in HITMAN. However, the developers claimed significant technological advancements introduced in 007 First Light, such as a new volumetric smoke system that tries to push the limits of how smoke, fog, and explosions are represented in the game, completely new animation and AI systems, and improvements to shooting and cover mechanics.

By the way, NVIDIA and IO Interactive will be giving away a 007-themed GeForce RTX 5090 GPU through NVIDIA's social channels, so you might want to keep an eye on X, Facebook, and Instagram.
