ZOTAC Becomes The Latest AIB To Hike RTX 50 Prices As Soaring VRAM Costs Threaten To Drag Every Board Partner Along

Another manufacturer announced a price hike for its GPUs, and it appears that many will follow as the DRAM market keeps pushing VRAM prices upwards.

ZOTAC RTX 5090D V2 to See A Price Hike of Up to $295, While the RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Series, and RTX 5060 Series Get Smaller $7-$14 Increases

The never-ending price hikes will definitely put a significant strain on consumers' wallets, particularly those of gamers. NVIDIA and its board partners have been continuously adjusting the prices for the GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards as if the current prices weren't putting significant financial pressure on consumers. After having hiked the prices a couple of times, it appears that the AIBs will once again introduce another price hike, as ZOTAC did recently.

As reported by ChannelGate, the supply chain sources have indicated that ZOTAC's new price adjustments have officially taken effect this month. This means new prices for its graphics card stack, particularly for the GeForce RTX 50 series. As per the report, this price hike seems to affect the Chinese market, but it is likely going to affect the prices of RTX 50 series cards worldwide.

ZOTAC Graphics Card Factory Implements June Distributor Price Adjustment Policy

ZOTAC's latest graphics card cost pricing policy for June 2026 has officially taken effect. Compared to May, changes in market supply-demand conditions and upstream costs have led to a temporary rebound in distributor pricing for certain product lines. According to information obtained from internal factory sources, the details of ZOTAC's June distributor price adjustments compared to May are as follows:

  1. RTX 5090D V2 — Price increased by 2,000 yuan
  2. RTX 5080 — Entry-level models increased by 100 yuan, other models remain unchanged
  3. RTX 5070 Series — General increase of approximately 100 yuan across the lineup
  4. RTX 5060 Ti 8GB / RTX 5060 Series — All models increased by 50 yuan
  5. All other models — Prices remain unchanged

The flagship NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090D V2 is said to be affected the most in the entire stack, with a price hike of as much as 2,000 Yuan, which translates to around US$295. A nearly $300 price increase on a card that is already selling for a sky-high price is ridiculous. The RTX 5090D V2 is already a nerfed RTX 5090, which launched for nearly $2,300 in China, and many listings have shown that some editions can list for as high as $4,300.

On the other hand, the rest of the GPU stack doesn't seem to be affected that much, but a hike is always problematic, no matter how small it is. The slower GPUs such as the GeForce RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 series, including the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070, have reportedly received a price hike of 100 Yuan or US$15, except for a few RTX 5080 models. This is far lower than the price hike for the China-specific flagship Blackwell GPU, and similarly, the RTX 5060 series is said to have been affected by 50 Yuan or US$7.

It appears that the GeForce RTX 5050 is unaffected, but it could also see a price hike in the near future if VRAM prices keep soaring. We recently saw Lenovo implementing a new price hike for all of its products, so it won't be a surprise to see more manufacturers announcing similar price hikes, which will further affect the already declining GPU sales.
