Xiaomi will be gracing us all with the Mix Flip, making it the first commercially available flip phone since the company started making foldable phones. Today, we have discovered one of the biggest leaks surrounding this phone, which contains detailed information about the camera, display, and other specifications. Given all the information the leak revealed, we cannot wait for it to finally hit the shelves.
The Xiaomi Mix Flip is shaping up to be a promising clamshell foldable phone
GSMChina has gone ahead and leaked some really compelling information on the Xiaomi Mix Flip. The phone is codenamed "ruyi" and will be running on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The source has also created a render image that is based on all the information that they have available, giving us a better idea of what the device is going to look like. The Xiaomi Mix Flip looks like what you would expect from a clamshell foldable, but there is more. Android Headlines has managed to get its hands on the camera sensors that will be found on the phone. The information was found in the HyperOS source code, which further solidifies the fact that the phone does exist and could launch on any day now.
The Xiaomi Mix Flip is going to feature a Light Hunter 800 sensor that is based on the OmniVision OV50E sensor. It brings a 50-megapixel resolution with 1/1.55-inch sensor size. There is also an OmniVision OV60A sensor, which has a 60-megapixel resolution with a 1/2.8-inch sensor size. This camera will be able to deliver 2x optical zoom. Last but not least, there is a 32-megapixel OV32B camera that will be used for the front-facing camera. It appears that there is no ultra-wide sensor.
The source also reveals that the Xiaomi Mix Flip will have a 1.5K screen resolution, which makes sense as a clamshell foldable phone isn't always the highest-end regarding specifications. However, it is worth noting that you can actually get something different when the phone is out on the market. The leak reveals that the phone will come out sometime in May or June later this year because it carries the model numbers 2405CPX3DG/2405CPX3DC“, and the 2405 at the beginning of the model numbers could represent May of this year. Considering how the month is not that far, we might start seeing a lot more details about the new phone in the coming months.
