Xiaomi has introduced a small, but highly useful upgrade to its Mi Notebook Air models, and it is something that should be able to simplify the connectivity life of users intending to use the notebook where there are no Wi-Fi hotspots in sight.

The Mi Notebook Air Models Feature a 4G Modem Now in Addition to the 802.11ac Adapter

Both the 13.3 and 12.5-inch variants have been upgraded with a 4G modem, allowing you to connect seamlessly without having to worry about the lack of Wi-Fi hotspots surrounding your location. In addition, the 13.3-inch model has been upgraded to the i7 processor variant, resulting in a higher degree of performance, though it will still be behind other notebooks that are touting quad-core chips inside their housing. Thanks to these upgrades, the pricing of these laptops have also increased (all details have been listed below).

Other than that, pretty much nothing else has changed about the notebooks. However, the disappointing thing about having a Mi Notebook Air with a 4G modem is that it will be incompatible with your network. Hopefully, Xiaomi is able to target a larger consumer base by making the 4G modem compatible with a wide range of networks, but it looks like for now, you will be fresh out of luck. Regardless, it is still a great notebook to purchase if you’re on the lookout for a study Windows 10-powered machine.
