XFX has announced the new Radeon HD7870 Double Dissipation Graphics card which makes use of the same full length dual fan cooler used on the Radeon HD7970 Double Dissipation allowing for a cooler thermal environment while overclocking.

The AMD Radeon™ HD 7800 Series is the upgrade gamers deserve. Based on the award-winning GCN Architecture, these cards are engineered for supremacy with the industry’s very first 28nm GPU design. Packed with incredible features, such as support for PCI Express 3.0, the ultra-efficient AMD ZeroCore Power technology and gaming at resolutions up to 7680x3200 with AMD Eyefinity technology, serious gaming starts here.

The XFX R7870 runs at the reference core clock of 1Ghz and 4.8Ghz effective memory speed. It holds a 2GB GDDR5 memory (256-bit wide). Market availability is expected around 19th March and would cost a little premium over the reference model.
