For the second time in a week, the social media platform X has gone offline for a large segment of its users, with Cloudflare actively assisting in recovery efforts.

The X app is down, but the website is still accessible on desktop, at least for some users

According to Downdetector, X is facing widespread outage right now, especially in the US. Most of the issues relate to the mobile app, with users experiencing fewer issues accessing X via its website.

We can access X via its website for now, at least. Of course, user experience is likely to vary from region to region.

The X mobile app is down for us right now, as is the case for so many other users around the world.

Do note that Cloudflare experienced its own widespread outage a few weeks back.

According to Cloudflare, its global outage back in November 2025 was caused by an unintentional error within its Bot Management System. However, Cloudflare's infrastructure has failed to bounce back 100 percent and continues to experience residual issues.

This comes as Verizon experienced its own network outage earlier in the week, prompting the company to then dispense a $20 credit to each affected customer.

Coming back, some users are also reporting that they can't access xAI's Grok LLM as well, which hints at a deeper disruption at the backend, possibly worsened by Cloudflare's ongoing stability issues. Of course, until X issues a statement, all of this remains educated conjecture, so stay tuned.

We have now received a statement from Cloudflare, noting that "Cloudflare services are operating normally, and the issues X is currently seeing are not related to Cloudflare. Cloudflare is actively supporting the X team for any help they need from us in restoration."

Note: A previous version of the article speculated that Cloudflare might have contributed to X's downtime. We've updated the article after receiving word from Cloudflare.

Update: X has managed to restore connectivity for most users.
