Microsoft has released a new Windows 10 build 10565 bringing several new features, including many improvements brought to the Edge browser.

While we were waiting for a Windows 10 Mobile build to arrive today, seems like we still have to wait longer for a new Mobile preview. Gabe Aul of Microsoft has announced a new build of Windows 10 desktop bringing a number of enhancements and bug fixes to the operating system. These improvements also include a new and improved Skype messaging experience, tab previews in Edge and a few more customizations, among other enhancements.
If you are registered to the Windows Insider Program, and don't see the new build, don't worry. The update is rolled out to the Fast ring members in waves and will soon reach to your Windows 10 devices too.
What's new in Windows 10 10565?
- Skype messaging, calling and video experience with new Messaging, Phone and Skype video universal Windows apps.
- Improvements in Microsoft Edge: Tab previews, syncing Favorites, Reading list items.
- Cortana improvements: now understands your inked notes, reminders could be set based on locations, numbers, times; keeps track of your leisure time, bookings for movies and events and informs you two hours prior to the event start time.
- Title bars: UI improvements make the title bars appear darker. To adjust the color go to Settings > Personalization > Colors.
- Improved context menus on Start: we have already talked about this particular change as the new context menus bring new icons for tile adjustments.
- New icons: these too had also been leaked earlier. The new Windows 10 build brings a batch of new icons.
- Device activation improvements: easier activation of Windows 10 on existing Windows 7, 8, and Windows 8.1 devices.
Windows 10 10565 known issues:
- The search box does not work if you are in a locale where Cortana is not available. We are currently investigating workarounds.
- The Xbox app for Windows 10 will consume gigabytes of memory on your PC if you have any Win32 games (non -Windows Store games) installed on your PC that have been identified as games or added by you in the Xbox app. Closing the Xbox app will release your PC’s memory.
- WebM and VP9 have been temporarily removed from the flight builds. We continue to develop a VP9 implementation that we intend to ship in Windows. Expect VP9 to return soon in a future release.
- Small form-factor devices, like the Dell Venue 8 Pro, that boot with rotation or virtual mode screen size set larger than the physical screen size will experience a bluescreen on upgrade and will roll back to the previous build.
