Everstone Studio and NetEase Games launched free-to-play open-world Wuxia title Where Winds Meet a little more than two weeks ago at the time of this writing, and in that time, it has already surpassed 9 million downloads on PC and PS5, according to Everstone and NetEase. It's also about to expand to a new platform, with a release on iOS and Android mobile devices coming next week on December 12, 2025.
Alongside the news of its mobile release date, Everstone Studio and NetEase Games also debuted a new mobile launch trailer, which shows off some impressive and cinematic visuals, though, of course, whether what you'll play will match the trailer depends on the quality of the hardware in your phone.
"We are both humbled and flattered by the kind words and encouragement from players around the world," said Beralt Lyu, lead producer on Where Winds Meet, in a press release. "Their support inspires us to continue improving the game and delivering even better content to our players. With the mobile version coming soon, we can't wait for more players to join our growing community."
If you're looking forward to playing Where Winds Meet on your mobile device, then you can pre-register for the game now at its official website. According to Everstone Studio, the version will include a mobile-optimized user interface, and it'll have full cross-platform and cross-play support.
Wccftech's Francesco De Meo reviewed Where Winds Meet, giving the game an 8.5/10. Though it is mostly a solid, impressive free-to-play title, it's still too early to say if it'll catch on to be a phenomenon like Genshin Impact or Honkai Star Rail.
"Where Winds Meet delivers an exceptional open-world experience, successfully blending an engaging story, meaningful activities, a solid combat system paired with competent character progression, a wealth of multiplayer options, and one of the most lively cities in the genre. Though some of its features and mechanics suffer from the constraints of the free-to-play model, the good undeniably outweighs the bad, making it a rare title that can captivate even players who typically avoid similar open-world games, easily providing hundreds of hours of content even in its launch state."
