Wccftech Awards '23

It's time to officially announce the winners of the Wccftech Awards' 23! This includes the best games released last year and the most anticipated titles due this year, as voted by our staff and community through polls based on our respective category lists.

Among the best games of 2023 (a historic year with a record number of highly acclaimed releases), Larian's Baldur's Gate 3 triumphs with four prizes: best RPG (staff and community) and Game of the Year (again, staff and community). Then there's CAPCOM's Street Fighter 6, which not only grabs the fighting game awards but also snatches the multiplayer game award from our staff.

Other multi-winners of the Wccftech Awards '23 where staff and community agreed include Sea of Stars (indie), Alan Wake 2 (horror), The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (action), Forza Motorsport (sports and racing), Super Mario Bros. Wonder (platform), RoboCop: Rogue City (shooter), and Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew (strategy and simulation).

Moving on to the most anticipated games coming in 2024, the only title to get more than two prizes was GSC Game World's STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, which won in the shooter categories (with the only unanimous vote in all of the staff polls) and in the community's most anticipated overall game poll.

The other multi-winners are Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (most anticipated RPG from the community and most anticipated overall game from the staff), Silent Hill 2 (horror), Hollow Knight: Silksong (platform), Tekken 8 (fighting), Hades 2 (indie), and Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree (expansion/DLC).

Congratulations to all the winners and see you in a year or so for the next Wccftech Awards!
