For all the criticism that Apple has faced when it comes to pricing its computers ludicrously, its compact and insanely powerful M4 Mac mini stands out from the competition. Even if you conduct a pricing comparison, there is no PC out there that can take on that $599 figure. Best of all, that starting price is even lower, thanks to the early Amazon Cyber Monday 2024 sale, as the M4 Mac mini with 16GB unified RAM and 256GB of SSD storage is going for $559, or a 7 percent discount.
Thankfully, if you feel that the 256GB of available storage is too little for your daily driving, a 512GB model is also available for $744. Our take on the matter is that if you are willing to take a ‘clever’ shortcut, which involves plugging a fast, portable SSD like the 2TB SanDisk Extreme PRO, that can had for as low as $157.58 and delivers speeds of up to 2,000MB/s, then you are better off spending a little more money and getting the 512GB storage version.
However, bear in mind that the upgraded storage variant’s estimated delivery is between two to four weeks, so it is going to be a long wait. If you want a higher unified RAM version, that can be yours for $999, but here is the catch; you have to muster a ton of patience because the estimated delivery time for this version is a whopping one to two months.
As for those wondering about the M4 Pro model, that is strangely missing from Amazon’s listings, but it is likely that stock has run out, leaving potential buyers with a total of three configurations to choose from. Given the competitive pricing of the M4 Mac mini, it is unsurprising that these machines are in high demand, which also makes acquiring them a challenge, but their popularity also means that they are worth your investment.
