Later this month, Ubisoft will release one of the major third party titles launching on Nintendo Switch this year, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. The game, like several other Ubisoft titles, is powered by the publisher's proprietary Snowdrop Engine, and it seems like the engine makes developing Switch titles quite simple.

Speaking with ntower, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Lead Narrative Designer Andrea Babich revealed that the Snowdrop Engine and the Nintendo Switch perfectly fit together. He also noted how easy it is to develop for the new Nintendo console.

Actually we were really surprised about how easy the development for this system is. I don’t want to sound like a Ubisoft or Nintendo fan, but when we got the Dev-Kit and put the Snowdrop-Engine onto the Switch, these two perfectly fit together. The Snowdrop-Engine, which is our engine for almost everything and which we used for the last South Park game is so versatile that we quickly lost our worries about the development.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is definitely one of the most interesting Nintendo Switch titles coming this year, combining the Super Mario universe with the wacky Ubisoft mascots.

The Mushroom Kingdom has been torn apart by a mysterious vortex, transporting the chaotic Rabbids into this once peaceful land. To restore order, Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Yoshi must team up with a whole new crew: four Rabbids heroes! Together, they will battle with weapons through four worlds filled with combat, puzzles, and unpredictable enemies.
Developed exclusively for the Nintendo Switch™ system, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is the best of the Mario and Rabbids franchises, combining all that you love about Mario’s iconic universe with the side-splitting antics of the Rabbids.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle launches on August 29th exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
