The TR9 AI mini PC is the first device to bring the Pro Strix Point chip, offering a different Zen 5-Zen 5c configuration than the rest of the SKUs.

TOPC Debuts TR9 AI Mini PC At $320 With Ryzen AI 350 and At $362 With Ryzen AI PRO 360

Strix Point PRO APUs are uncommon to find on mainstream devices but TOPC became the first to deliver the budget Ryzen AI PRO 360 into one of its latest TR9 AI mini PCs. As reported by @realVictor_M, the Chinese hardware manufacturer, has introduced four different configurations of the TR9 AI mini PC, packed with Strix Point and Krackan APUs.

The prices start at 2299 Yuan or US$320 for the one with the Ryzen AI 7 350 processor. It features an 8-core/16-thread configuration, and is a budget segment APU, featuring clock speeds of up to 3.5 GHz and 5 GHz for the Zen 5c and Zen 5 cores, respectively. It brings the budget Radeon 860M graphics with 8 cores and a clock speed of 3000 MHz and has a dedicated NPU with 50 TOPS of AI performance.

On the other hand, the TR9 AI mini PC with Ryzen AI PRO 360 is priced at a slightly higher price tag of $362 but offers a different core configuration, which involves 3x Zen 5 and 5x Zen 5c cores, unlike the Ryzen AI 7 350/ PRO 7 350, which has 4x Zen 5 and 4x Zen 5c cores. Since Zen 5c cores are more power-efficient and use a smaller 3nm process node than regular Zen 5 cores, the PRO 360 is specialized at handling the background processes more efficiently, and will be an ideal solution for professionals on a budget.

Moreover, it is noticeably faster at handling intensive graphical workloads, thanks to the Radeon 880M graphics, which has four more cores than the 860M and can offer a decent gaming and productivity experience.

Then there are editions with the mainstream Strix Point chips like Ryzen AI 9 365 and Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, featuring 10 cores and 12 cores configurations respectively, offering high performance and productivity. These start at 3799 Yuan and 4199 Yuan respectively, which translates to roughly US$529 and US$585. So, the ones with the Ryzen AI 7 350 and Ryzen AI 7 PRO 360 are significantly cheaper solutions, but we are yet to know the rest of their specifications, like RAM and storage capacity.

When AMD launched its Strix Point APUs last year, a lot of manufacturers were initially hesitant to adopt the CPUs, but eventually started deploying them in their mini PCs. Now a lot of PC hardware manufacturers have expanded their catalog with not just Strix Point APUs but also with more expensive Strix Halo chips and the budget segment, Krackan Point as well.
