After the recent clarification, it appears that this is not the case.

The claims of Tim Cook preferring to use Logitech's MX Master 3 over the Magic Mouse are false (via MacRumors). The Wall Street Journal published an interview with Tim Cook last month, where he said that he uses every single Apple product every day. In order to replicate the same behavior, The Verge's Wes Davis attempted to use all Apple devices in a single day. During the process, Davis stated that he used the MX Master 3 from Logitech but occasionally shifted to the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad.
What this means is that it was Davis who switched to the MX Master 3 and not Apple CEO Tim Cook. The false information was a result of Mac Observer's misinterpretation of The Verge's post. While it is an honest mistake, the news gained plenty of traction on Reddit over the past few days. It is worth clearing the air when it comes to spreading false information that could harm organizations and individuals.
On a lighter note, users have shown disgust over the Magic Mouse's USB-C port, which is located on the bottom of the accessory, making it practically impossible to charge and use the device simultaneously. The Logitech MX Master 3, on the flip side, features a USB-C port in the front, which makes it easier for users to charge the mouse and use it at the same time.
Apple's design choices are strange at times, and the company's latest M4 Mac mini also features the Power button below the device. To switch it on, you would have to pick up the device, put your finger below the machine, and then turn it on. While it is inconvenient, Apple has already shared the reason for its design choice, stating that users do not turn off their Macs and simply put them to sleep.
