A creative way to experience mobile games is with the involvement of another accessory like a charging cable, with one developer enabling this synergy with a title called ‘Charchery,’ which only allows you to hit the target after plugging in the cable and yanking it out. It sure seems like an excellent workout for your arms, but you’ll have to purchase several durable cables to have a great time.
Charchery is by no means a visual masterpiece, but it is definitely a creative way to enjoy mobile games, at the expense of your charging cable
On X, @rebane2001 unveils his latest creation after developing a game that leverages a folding smartphone’s display technology as a controller called Foldy Bird. He states that his inspiration was from games like Defend Your Castle and Bowmaster Prelude, but mentions that Charchery is a highly basic game. A brief demonstration has been shown in the form of a video below, where some humanoid targets are approaching the archer, suggesting that their numbers will be endless.
The arrows are loaded on the bow by plugging in the cable, and as soon as you yank out the cable, a single arrow will be fired at the target. We haven’t tried the game yet, but one game mechanic shown is a combo system. It is possible that under a specific time limit, your combo will be recorded, increasing your overall score when the enemies have overwhelmed the player. However, when we took a gander at the charger, it appears the developer abused the accessory, as its white sleeve was coming apart.
Then again, your charging cable probably won’t last long if you insert it into the port and then yank it, meaning that if you are looking forward to Charchery, you’ll have to purchase an adequate number of these cables, particularly those featuring nylon braiding due to their durability. You can try out the game here, and since it is web-based, you won’t be required to download and install any applications. Unfortunately, you cannot start Charchery on a desktop since it won’t detect the device as a smartphone.
