Thermalright Debuts AI HydroNous R1 With Ryen AI Max+ 395 Rate at up to 176W Peak Power

The new mini PC from Thermalright is pushing the flagship AMD Zen 5 mobile chip to its limits. The company just introduced its most powerful Strix Halo-based mini PC, the AI HydroNous R1, which brings the 16-core/32-thread Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor for enthusiasts, delivering incredibly high computing power unlocked by water cooling.

The AI HydroNous R1 is a pretty compact vertical mini PC that uses a 2.6-litre chassis. Inside this small form-factor chassis, you will find the most powerful AMD mobile chip coupled with a custom water-cooling solution to max out the performance. Ryzen AI Max+ 395 is officially rated at up to 120W, but Thermalright has unlocked its potential by extending its TDP to a whopping 176W. The water-cooling solution must be excellent to handle this TDP rating, and should unlock additional performance for gaming and professional workloads.

Ryzen AI Max+ 395 is a well-known SoC for bringing a powerful combination of CPU and iGPU to deliver excellent gaming/productivity performance. With the Radeon 8060S, the processor is adequate to play games even on ultra settings. Since the AI HydroNous R1 is a very compact machine, it offers excellent portability and can be carried easily in a backpack. Despite featuring a small chassis, it still brings a dedicated 4.6-inch LCD to show hardware metrics and offers ample ventilation for continuous cooling.

The I/O section is satisfactory as well, bringing a high-speed Ethernet port and dual USB4 ports for high-bandwidth devices. IT Home says that the machine is equipped with a 10GbE LAN, whether the system is equipped with a WiFi adapter or not is unknown. Nonetheless, we don't know the RAM and storage capacity for this device, and Thermalright hasn't disclosed the official price for the AI HydroNous R1 yet.

Update: @realVictor_M reports that the AI HydroNous R1 will be available with 128 GB RAM and 2 TB of storage for 23,990 Yuan or US$3500.
