We are still around two weeks away from Samsung's official unveiling of its Galaxy S26 series. Even so, the as yet unreleased Galaxy S26+ just went up for sale on Craiglist, leading many to conclude that the device is either a prototype or part of an outright scam.
An enterprising netizen is now offering to sell to you the unreleased Galaxy S26+ on Craiglist
A tipster has just published the photos of the Galaxy S26+ that has gone on sale on Craiglist. Do note that the tipster appears to be mistaken. Judging from the layout of the cameras, we can safely conclude that the variant appears to be an S26+ and not an S26 Ultra, as claimed in the X post above.
Also, given the fact that our enterprising netizen is claiming to sell a Samsung Galaxy S26+ before the series' official debut later this month, we can confidently proclaim that the unit either belongs to the plethora of prototypes that Samsung uses for internal testing or constitutes a part of an elaborate scam.
This comes as we noted recently that, as per the tidbits shared by the tipster @SPYGO19726, a lot of prospective customers have canceled their pre-orders for the upcoming devices, which would transform Samsung's 34-million-unit annual sales target for the S26 series into an uphill task.
These pre-order cancelations appear to be a direct function of the patently iterative refresh that the Samsung Galaxy S26 series is shaping up to be.
After all, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which is the series' uncontested heavyweight, is expected to sport a blasé 5,000mAh battery, while skimping on the Qi2 built-in magnets, which would have unlocked an entire ecosystem of MagSafe accessories.
Meanwhile, in what constitutes a lone star attraction for the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, Samsung is bringing its Flex Magic Pixel OLED technology to the lineup, enabling what is now being dubbed a 'Privacy Display.' Basically, the technology leverages AI to dim angular viewing angles without affecting the screen brightness for a head-on viewing experience. This would prevent anyone from snooping on your smartphone-related activities from lateral angles.
What's more, Samsung also appears intent on raising the price of the Galaxy S26 series in select markets. For instance, the base Galaxy S26 is expected to start retailing for 1,254,000 won ($865) in South Korea, which would make it around 99,000 won ($67.60) more expensive than the base Galaxy S25. Similarly, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to start hitting the proverbial shelves at 1,797,000 won ($1,240), which again translates into a price increase of 98,600 won ($67.13) relative to the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
