The OnePlus Open is honestly one of the most impressive foldable phones that we have seen this year. Not only does it pack great hardware, but it also offers top-tier cameras, and even the construction of the phone is pretty durable. During the reveal, the company talked about how they have used "extraordinary materials" to make sure that the phone's weight is lower than that of the competition.

Although OnePlus wins in marketing, a teardown now reveals where titanium and carbon fiber were used, and honestly, you might feel a bit let down. But don't worry, you do get titanium and carbon fiber in the phone, not just where you think. You can check the whole teardown video below:
The teardown reveals that the screws that are used in the hinge are made out of titanium. The rest of the phone actually has a lot of screws inside of it, as well. There is also some carbon fiber in the hinge, which could indicate a reduction in the weight, but not by mile since there is simply not enough. The hinge itself does look strong, and based on the durability test, we can stand by it.
Honestly, some might find themselves furious over this whole deception, but in reality, I don't see how OnePlus Open deceives anyone. The company talked about how there is titanium and carbon fiber inside the phone, and well, the teardown reveals just that. At the end of the day, if you ask me about the best foldable in the market as we speak, my vote would be for this device because it does what every other foldable does, but only better.
