Ubisoft Massive may be busy with Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora DLCs and Star Wars Outlaws, but they're also still updating The Division 2. The studio has now unveiled the content that will be added to the game in its sixth post-launch year.

The first season is called First Rogue and lands today on all platforms. In the new story, players will need to track down Agent Kelso. Arguably the most important change brought by the season is the endgame revamp, though:

All owners of Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 will now be able to level up their characters to level 40 without need of owning Warlords of New York. Players will be able to keep leveling their characters beyond 30 in the streets of Washington DC and reach the level 40 cap without any additional purchase. Upon reaching level 40, the entirety of the endgame will be available to them. This includes all level 40 items implemented in the past years, Seasons and all their activities (Leagues, Global Events, Apparel Events, Manhunts – including the new Y6S1 First Rogue Manhunt), level 40 Game Modes (The Summit, Countdown) and the recently implemented Incursion, Paradise Lost.

Year 6 Season 2 will introduce a revamp of The Division 2's season system, which will now feature dedicated seasonal characters.

Each season is meant to be experienced from level 1, featuring a fully revamped and accelerated progression designed to swiftly guide players to the endgame while gradually introducing all game mechanics to prepare them for level 40. Seasons will offer a flexible structure, allowing players to progress in many ways, but also provide clear guidance with a series of objectives and projects to accompany players through their progression journey. To create and maintain an ever-fresh experience, each season will introduce a new set of gameplay modifiers, enabling new playstyles and challenges that will require a reevaluation of established strategies and builds.

When seasons end, any earned XP and rewards will be transferred to your main characters, while seasonal characters are added to the roster.

A new The Division 2 story DLC will be released in 2025, bringing players back to New York's Manhattan. Moreover, next year, the developers aim to add several enhancements to character customization features.
