Tencent is developing the world's first "3D-visual" gaming handheld device in collaboration with Intel, powered by Lunar Lake.

Tencent Decides To Jump Into The Handheld Segment With a Bold Entrant, Coming In With Tremendous Performance & Features Including The Intel Lunar Lake SoCs

The handheld market has evolved rapidly over the past few years, especially with the debut of "power-efficient" platforms like AMD's Phoenix and Intel's Meteor Lake. However, despite the decent rise in performance, we have yet to witness innovation in terms of physical aspects, and it looks like Tencent's upcoming handheld might change this.

Based on information from ITHome, it is reported that Tencent x Intel is preparing a new device, the "3D One" handheld, which features 3D visuals and cutting-edge specifications.

Diving a bit into specifications, Tencent's 3D One handheld is rumored to feature Intel's "Lunar Lake" Core Ultra 7 258V SC, an 8C/8T mobile APU said to be a mid-tier offering in the whole lineup.

Apart from this, the 3D One handheld is said to feature 32 GB LPDDR5x memory and up to 1TB SSD, offering ample room for all sorts of workloads. Coming to the more exciting part, Tencent's 3D One handheld device is a "2-in-1" product, featuring options to switch from a tablet to a dedicated portable via the "split handles" onboard.

It won't be wrong to say that Tencent's 3D One will be one of the biggest handhelds out there regarding screen size, coming in at an 11-inch 2.5K display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Such a large screen is optimal for a "2-in-1" device, so Tencent decided to go this route. Concerning the "3D visuals, Tencent's handheld will come with an "eye-tracking" system, allowing the firm to produce 3D visual effects without any additional modifications, which is indeed an innovative approach.

Other notable features include a gigantic 100W battery and a design that resembles ASUS's ROGAlly X, making the Tencent 3D One an optimal package for those looking for a capable handheld device. Unfortunately, as of now, we are unaware of the specifics of pricing and release dates, but given the premiumness Tencent plans to bring in, it will undoubtedly come with a costly price tag.
