TCL has unveiled two new Mini-LED gaming monitors, the 34R83Q and 27R83U, both featuring cutting-edge specifications.
TCL's Newest 34" & 27" Mini-LED Monitors Are Targeted Towards High-End Gaming Performance, With Crisp Display Quality
Both gaming monitors target the higher-end segment, with the 34R83Q designed for relatively broader applications.
TCL 34R83Q Gaming Monitor
Starting with the specifications, the 34R83Q features a 34-inch WQHD panel with a maximum resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels. Moreover, TCL says that they have employed their CSOT panel, which is an advanced version of the firm's previous iterations, with better-viewing angles, narrow bezels, and much more. The monitor has a refresh rate of 170 Hz and a GtG response time of 1 ms for gaming-oriented specs, providing the best gaming and media performance.
Other display specs for the TCL Mini LED monitors include VESA DisplayHDR 1400 certification, a 99% DCI-P3 rating covering 8bit+RFC color depth, and a peak brightness of 1600 nits. In terms of display options, the monitor comes with 2x HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4. Moreover, USB connectivity choices feature one USB 3.2 Gen 2 with 90W PD, along with two USB 3.0 Type-A and one USB 3.0 Type-B port, providing ample options to consumers.
The TCL 34R83Q gaming monitor has an elegant white look, with strips of black running all around to provide an excellent color scheme. The firm also offers a subtle RGB option at the back, which it calls "Wings of Light," which provides a similar vibe to what we see with Dell's Alienware monitors.
TCL 27R83U Gaming Monitor
If you are looking for a smaller version with relatively high specifications, the 27R83U is the way to go. The monitor has a 4K Mini-LED flat panel with a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160, much higher than its 34-inch sibling in the lineup. Moreover, it features 1,152 Mini LED local dimming zones with VESA DisplayHDR 1400 certification and a peak brightness of 1600 nits. Otherwise, there aren't many changes compared to the 34R83Q, except that this monitor is intended for those who desire higher resolutions and that the panel is flat in this case.
The TCL 27R83U gaming monitor has a similar connectivity and USB port count compared to the 34R83Q, but the big difference would be in the pricing department since the 27R83U is expected to retail at a much lower price compared to the 34R83Q, which is listed for around €1,199, but the MSRPs are still not confirmed by TCL; hence we will have to wait and see. Overall, both monitors are solid releases and will manage to make strides in the markets given that TCL manages to deliver on expectations
