[UPDATE - May 7, 2026] RGG Studio has unveiled a lot of new info about Stranger Than Heaven, including the release window of Winter 2026.

[ORIGINAL STORY] Stranger Than Heaven received today a brand-new intense trailer called "Five Eras" during the latest Xbox Partner Preview showcase, teasing a lot more than has been shown to date of the next new IP from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the team behind Like a Dragon / Yakuza, including multiple eras and different cities.

The five eras - 1915, 1929, 1943, and 1965 - and the five cities promise to make the game one of the biggest the studio has ever released. "We can’t say much more [about that] than what was shown today," said RGG Studio Representative & Executive Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama to Xbox Wire. "But as you can imagine, 5 cities and 5 eras is a massive undertaking. We’re putting a tremendous amount of care into bringing to life these times and places we feel are rarely explored in games. It’s truly a unique experience you can’t get anywhere else."

Besides providing a quick look at these eras and cities, the new Stranger Than Heaven trailer showed plenty of combat, which looks dynamic and brutal in true Like a Dragon fashion. "This is an all-new level of combat design from us, and what you saw is just the tip of the iceberg with much more to be revealed soon," teased Yokoyama-san.

Unfortunately, the new trailer did not confirm a release date, nor a generic release window, but thankfully it won't be long until we get another look at Stranger Than Heaven. An Xbox Presents: A Special Look at Stranger Than Heaven broadcast will stream on May 6. The event will provide a deeper look at the features teased in today's trailer and show more than hasn't been seen yet. Hopefully, we will also get a release window for a game that is looking more exciting with each new showing.
