NVIDIA couldn't hold this news until the usual GeForce NOW Thursday and shared with everyone that Starfield, the new sci-fi roleplaying game released a week ago by Bethesda Game Studios, is now available to stream via cloud.

NVIDIA and Microsoft had signed a partnership to bring all of the latter's games to the former's cloud service as part of Microsoft's attempts to assuage the fears of regulators handling the acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Since Bethesda was acquired a couple of years ago by Microsoft for around $7.5 billion, that includes games like Deathloop.

That said, there was no guarantee on when Starfield would actually be available on GeForce NOW. There are still many Microsoft-published titles missing from the list, after all. As such, today's news will be welcomed by everyone interested in playing the game via the cloud.

While Starfield was already playable by Game Pass Ultimate subscribers via the built-in streaming functionality, GeForce NOW's quality is far superior, offering up to 4K resolution or 120 frames per second for the Ultimate tier, equipped with an RTX 4080-class GPU.

Even better, we were able to verify with NVIDIA that GeForce NOW already supports playing Starfield after buying it on Steam, on the Xbox app, or simply having an active Game Pass subscription.

Perhaps NVIDIA waited until the new GeForce Game Ready driver 537.34 release, which introduced driver-level Resizable BAR support for Starfield, boosting performance by up to 5% for RTX 40 Series GPUs.

Of course, the downside is that you won't be able to install any of the great mods and tweaks available to PC gamers.

Fortunately, Bethesda announced a few hours ago that some of those things (Field of View slider, High Dynamic Range calibration menu, NVIDIA DLSS support, and 32:9 Ultrawide Monitor Support) will be added soon with a patch.

In other Starfield news, the game marked a new launch record for Bethesda Game Studios and pushed Xbox console sales in the United Kingdom. For our review of the game, head to this article.
