A new short Starfield comparison video was shared online today, highlighting the massive visual improvements shown in the game's opening sequence over last year's build.

The comparison, which was shared on Twitter by @Kjovian and put together by MartinTheTrue, highlights how pretty much every visual element, from lighting to textures and animations, has been massively improved, leading to much better image clarity and more pleasing visuals overall.

Like recent Bethesda games, Starfield is going to be a massive open-world game, but it seems like the final game may exceed most players' expectations in terms of size and playtime. During yesterday's official Xbox Gamescom livestream, Pete Hines commented on the length of the game, saying that he has played the game for around 160 hours and hasn't even come close to seeing everything it has to offer. Commenting further, Hines said that the game's score is much bigger than anything they have ever done before, as it feels like there are a bunch of different games inside it, and it's up to the player to decide how much time they want to spend in any different activity.

Starfield officially launches on September 6th on PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. Those with early access to the game can start playing it next week, on September 1st.
